Bought items meant as gift and got seller to assure condition is good, which she did. Was unable to check during deal as guard was standing near gantry, didn't want to get caught & fined for dealing in MRT station. Msged seller to inform about the "dog ears" on the corners of the books. Seller blamed me for not checking. Not that I'm fussy but I would expect seller to be truthful b4 deal was confirmed, so that my expectation can be managed. It is wrong to assure condition is good when it is not.

i'm sorry that you're unhappy but i have to defend myself in this case. you were reminded to check the items before you paid but you decided against it as you feared being fined. as a buyer, it's your responsibility to check the items & not blaming it on the location as you could've opted to meet elsewhere. as for the condition of the item, you had pictures and hence was well aware of what you were paying for and i gave you exactly that, so please stop making me out to be a irresponsible seller.

The item was truly a steal. However, the deal was not as satisfactory or pleasant as I'd hoped for it to be. Seller ended up being late and had left me waiting for an hour. However, she was apologetic, took responsibility and had given a reasonable explanation. She had also offered to make it up to me by selling it off at a lower price, which truly showed her sincerity and thoughtfulness. Overall, a deal that could have been better, but item was well worth it in the end.
